 ADVERBS (ZARFLAR)

Zarflar ve Sıfatlar birbirine çok benzer her ikisi de önüne geldiği kelimeyi niteler.Sıfatlar (Adjectives) daha önceki konularda değindiğimiz gibi önüne geldiği ismi niteler.

My father has got a slow car.

(Babamın yavaş arabası var.)

Örnekte olduğu gibi slow (yavaş) sıfatı arabadan önce kullanılarak, arabayı niteliyor.

Zarflar (Adverbs) ise önüne geldiği fiilleri niteler.Bir eylemin nasıl olduğu hakkından bize bilgi verir.Cümlenin herhangi bir yerinde kullanılabilir.

The people are speaking quietly.

İnsanlar sessizce konuşuyor.

İnsanların konuşma eyleminin sessizce olduğunu bize bildiriyor.Bize nitelediği kelime konuşma fiili.

Zarflar genellikle sıfatlara -ly getirilerek yapılır.

-y ile biten sıfatlarda, -y düşer ve -ily getirilir ve zarf yapılmış olur:

-ble ile biten sıfatlarda, -e düşer, -y getirilir.
